Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be a blend of old and new. Skif will be able to install some of the weapons mods out in the world or even while in combat – such as the silencer or a scope – although "more complex and advanced upgrades will be available only through a technician." Stalker 2 will feature new Anomalies, Factions, and Mutants The studio is promising aggressive, intuitive AI that will push your tactics at every opportunity, as well as over 30 weapon types – each with its own set of modifications. GSC appears to be really expanding upon the strong first-person shooter foundations that were put down for the original trilogy. You can even spot one of those artifacts in the Stalker 2 reveal trailer, where 'Jelly' can be seen located in the swamps – a mysterious property that's said to have a regenerative effect on stamina. who have entered the area looking to recover valuable artifacts and sell them to the highest bidder beyond the borders of the Zone. If you can survive the elements, you'll then have to go up against a large variety of Mutants (lengthy exposure to radiation is never wise) and Factions of other human S.T.A.L.K.E.R.S. With Stalker 2, the studio is promising that Factions and Mutants will be fighting for "living space, migrating, capturing new places, or retreating to safer areas" – meaning that, in theory, no one route through the Zone will ever be the same. In most open world games, life exists within the player's field-of-view. GSC Game World says that it has prepared a total overhaul of its A-LIFE system too, with A-Life 2.0 designed to simulate life in the Zone in as realistic a way as possible. You'll need to mitigate this while keeping on-top of survival mechanics like hunger, sleeping, bleeding, radiation effects, and as you attempt to detect and circumvent the Chornobyl Exclusion Zone's Anomalies. Stalker 2 will include a full day-night cycle, and dynamic weather to ensure the world continues to shift around you. Firstly though, it's worth focusing on the survival aspect – because staying alive in the Zone isn't supposed to be easy. While GSC Game World is yet to give us the opportunity to go hands-on, we have been able to get a good sense of what to expect from the Stalker 2 gameplay trailers and comments from the studio. Of course, if you have a lot of cash, and really want good RTX performance (again, we don't know if STALKER 2 will even have it, and if it does, it will most likely only be partial implementation), then sure, go for a 30XX series card.Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be part large-scale first-person shooter and part intricately designed immersive sim, and the results look impressive. If you can pick up an 20XX card on a great saving, I'd go ahead and go for it, rather than spending a ton more for the 30XX series. I recently purchased a custom metabox laptop for about $2800 AUS, which was discounted from $5200 AUS, which I'm sure you'd agree is a fucking huge saving (and this was after I upgrade some of the options to have a 240hz screen and more space and stuff). Assuming STALKER 2 even uses RTX, if it's partial, you would probably be ok with an 20XX series card if you are ok with 60fps and maybe turning down some settings, but if it's full (which I doubt it will be, nothing would be able to run it), it certainly wouldn't fly.Ī ton of stores are having heavy discounts right now, specifically to try and get rid of excess stock, particularly a lot of these previous gen cards. Once again though, Minecraft and Quake 2 RTX are the only games currently I believe that use FULL RTX, not partial, and as a result will run worse than other far better looking games that only use it partially. Looking at vids online, Minecraft with RTX on a 2070 super should be just a little shy of 60fps in outdoor areas, though this IS minecraft, not some super modern looking game, though at least graphics were set high. That being said, Quake 2 RTX was ENTIRELY RTX, not partial RTX like most other games are doing right now, which is FAR less intensive. I owned a 2060, and Quake 2 RTX didn't even really come close to 60fps unless I turned everything down, and frankly, after experiencing the glory of 144hz, 60fps is complete fucking garbage to me. This isn't wrong, and if you're going to try and run STALKER 2 with ray tracing, you're likely not going to even hold a stable 60FPS unless you have an 2080 super, and even then, I imagine you'd need to turn a bunch of settings down. Lot of people here are saying not to buy now, since RTX on the 2000's isn't exactly good.
